Prodiga, the Italian word for lavish, evolved in 2010 and I knew as a designer I wanted to specialize in luxury designer womenswear, with the ethic of quality without compromise. My biggest challenge was finding suppliers that would be develop into long standing business relations.
The inspiration for Prodiga has come from the change in society in recent years, female inequality in the workplace is a firmly a thing of the past. In fact, the percentage of women entering high powered roles in the work place has soared and therefore, so has the need for suitable work wear. I wanted hand embroidered fabrics to be my unique selling point, so it was vital for me to create lavish fabrics designs that could be produced.
I traveled to India to explore the stunning embroidery work, during this time I built business relations with two different factories, and had the ability to go into factories and work first hand with the other members of staff to design and create the perfect fabrics.
